He’s just AWESOME too. He told the story of how the idea for the Defiant Requiem came to him. It had to do with a book he found on Terezin in the bargain book bin at a bookstore in Minnesota, when he was conducting there. I loved that story
I managed to get enough courage to speak to him after (being as shy as I can be, at times, it was no small feat). He was so humble. I felt it was sincere humility. That was nice, as he seems quite larger than life on the podium, and well, he is I suppose.
